This is taken one of my favourite poems. The whole poem always send a wave through me each time I read it and the end is most comforting.

I guess there's a lot more woven into the whole poem than meets the mind's eye.

From Psalms.

Not quoted verbatim, but from memory.

"Heaven is Gods throne, while Earth is his footstool"

Even the footstool has to work, to make it a footstool, for the structure of a footstool is vibrating at a subatomic level.

How else would God get around, if not for bodies?

Quite ingenious, God!

This is my favorite WM poem and brings to my mind our ONENESS

For You

In the deepest part of me
in the room below,
and beneath even there
if I let myself go,
I find an ancient,
unchanged yearning
to live for you.

Incorruptible
as the sun faithfully desired
it ascends all the steps
of my heart,
and when it stands at the landing
baring its light
I can only speak four words,
I live for you.

Restless,
this feeling returns
underneath where it
waits with peculiar receptivity
unfit for any other calling.
So powerfully alone.
My heart beats only one memory,
to live for you.

Beckoning Places

Of beckoning places
I have never felt more lost.
Nothing invites me onward.
Nothing compels my mouth to speak.
In cave-like ignorance, resembling oblivion,
I am soulless in sleep.
Where are you, beloved?
Do you not think I wait for you?
Do you not understand the crystal heart?
Its facets like mirrors for the clouds
absent of nothing blue.

Invincible heaven with downcast eyes
and burning bullets of victory that peel through flesh
like a hungry ax,
why did you follow me?
I need an equal not a slayer.
I need a companion not a ruler.
I need love not commandments.

Of things forgotten
I have never been one.
God seems to find me even in the tumbleweed
when winds howl
and I become the wishbone in the hands
of good and evil.
Why do they seek me out?
What purpose do I serve
if I cannot become visible to you?

You know, when they put animals to sleep
children wait outside
as the needle settles the debt of pain and age.
The mother or father write a check and
sign their name twice that day.
They drop a watermark of tears.
They smile for their children
through clenched hearts beating
sideways like a pendulum
of time.

And I see all of this and more in myself.
A small animal whose debts are soon to be settled.
Children are already appearing outside
waiting for the smile of parents to reassure.
The signature and watermark
they never see.

Of winter sanctuary
I have found only you.
Though I wait for signals to draw me from the cold
into your fire
I know they will come
even though I fumble for my key.
Even though my heart is beheaded.
Even though I have only learned division.
I remember you
and the light above your door.

The Pure and Perfect
Someday the messengers will arrive
with stories of a nocturnal sun
despondent, burning implacably
in the deepest shade of a thousand shadows.
They will tell you of the
serene indifference of God.
They will draw you by the hand
through bruised alleyways
and prove the desperation of man
rejected from the beauty of an unearthly realm.
The news will arrive
as a tribute to the death of oracles.
Sparing words of purpose
the messengers will announce the
cold fury of realism's cave.

Someday, the messengers will send their thoughts
through books that have no pulse.
You will be accused of weakness
that drowns you in servitude.
A queer rivalry will beset you
and your life will crawl like an awkward beast
that has no home.

And you, my dearest friends,
who are truth -- who were all along,
will renew your devotion
to a powerful image in a distant mirror.
You will listen to these stories
and tear at your silent heart
with animal claws that are dulled
by the stone doors of time.
Where the unattested is confirmed
your vestige-soul is stored.
It will strengthen you
and cradle you in the light
of your own vision,
which will be hurled like lightening
through twilight's dull corridor.

The messengers will cry
at the sound of your rejection.
They will scream: "Do you want to be a
lowly servant and lonely saint?"

Mutants of the light
are always tested with doubts
of a swollen isolation
and the promise of truth's betrayal.
Listen without hearing.
Judge without pardon.
The grand parasite of falsehood
will prevail if you believe only your beliefs.

Someday, when all is clear to you --
when the winds have lifted all veils
and the golden auberge is the locus
of our souls --
you will be tested no more.
You will have reached destiny's lodge
and the toilsome replica of God
is jettisoned for the pure and perfect.

Thank You.:)

I am in the midst of writing a movie right now and the pure and the perfect stand out mightily. It is because when I tap into what that is within me and live in that place , there is nothing I can't do here, there are no limits for what can possibly emerge from such an excellent, moving, certian place although appearing uncertian at times. Patience to unfold what already is. It goes beyond magic for what it covers in imagination is beyond, what we have ever imagined. What is beyond the minds' eye? The eye of the heart.;):)

The Pure and Perfect is a powerfully descriptive poem that resonates deeply within

Shayalana I like the term you used "the eye of the heart"

It encourages me to remember the beautiful awareness of living true to and following the truth in life from the heart

The pure and perfect Poem is also featured on the Meditations in time and space dvd

Two of the wm poems that i feel strongly connected with are "Empyrean" and also "Compassion" they speak very strongly to me for some reason

Has anyone here read Kahil Gibran"s work

he definitely had a sublime gift for articulating with clarity and passion from the depths of his heart and soul

i oftentimes can feel a similarity within his expressions with that of the WingMakers poetry

Yes StrengthAnd Freedom, I love Kahil Gibran's works too. I wonder about the "Empyrean", maybe it is that part of us seemily so far removed from what we see about us that we need to inform it of what is taking place here by our participation in the making and living of our own lives that effect the other lives of so many and not only human lives either. Perhaps, our brains ARE pre-wired with All of the brains of people on this planet and what could that possibly mean then? We are far more connected than ever realized before and it goes way beyond mere mirror images. The heart holds more info for feedback from the soul and spirit than ever realized before. We inform the soul and spirit through our interpretation through our heart of what is going on here. The language of the heart is what the soul and spirit understand.:)

I agree Shayalana... my intuition always points me towards the awareness that the energy of the Heart is where the core truth of our Being ultimately resides...
I really resonated with the Energetic Heart document (I just received now a strong vibe to re-read that paper too!)
"The heart is the place we must daily face for there we find ourselves"... I feel that statement to be true, beautiful and very important
I will see if I can attach a document/poster to share that I made after first reading the energetic heart paper.

Peace & Blessings + WM Light from Mick )))...

The Void

Turning over bricks wrought by the center
Leaves drift through gaps of confidence
The void asks nothing, tells nothing,
knows nothing, does nothing
and yet is everything.

The heart is the local ambassador of the center
of the center of being.
Metaphor in flesh
mountains and valleys
find and hide
seek and speak and pray
To need to know. To be a
biologist in an ecosystem of
Spirit. To give a dang.
To forget everything for the sake of remembering
I saw thunderclouds of
yearning, storms weakened by the Earth.

Giving, taking, conquering and surrendering
Life cubes in the storehouses of eternity.
Wind-up gods gathering dust on the shelf.
Lungs like trees. A heart like the core of the Earth. The core of the sun
The core of every star. The ever-giving light of hope.
Perfection only in emptiness,
life only from entropy.
Water only from stone.
Fire knows your name,
knows your fear,
knows you better than you know yourself.

There are no secrets in the void,
and there is no room for cleverness or knowledge.
You will feel it.
Once I heard the voice of the Earth,
and it said, “I love you no matter what happens.”
It’s easy to hold an idea like perfect,
unconditional love in your mind.
It’s a whole other thing to feel that love shining in your face,
directly from the source.
Wailing and cussing and fretting and fussing
and bothering and blathering and still nothing.
No change in the signal.
No finished task bends or breaks the love of the void.

I wanted to believe in something
that could prove it didn’t require my belief to exist.
I wanted to feel the legitimate presence of a transcendental dimension
that was larger than me,
to be an intrepid explorer of hidden worlds.
The truth is far simpler and far more evasive
to the discerning intellect.
Gods rise and fall in the wake of eternity.
Infinity is real
Everything is accounted for
The true god is bigger than any god that can be imagined.
It is only revealed in the stillness, the absences.

Kill all your Buddhas and glimpse
the ever-loving void.
Forsake all adventure
and dwell in the all-becoming space between.
The emptiness that cracks all fear and obliterates all knowledge.
All wise, all caring void.
The perfect love that transcends all form.
The love that exhales galaxies and inhales
the dust of uncountable civilizations.
All sickness seeps into the gutter,
all filth is washed away by the dark waters.
A perpetual motion machine.
A mask for the truth. Always in masks.
Always one step ahead of even the ultimate observer.
The void evades all and holds all.

When asked to call upon a higher power, I hesitated. What do I really believe in?
I believe only in myself and my ability to work out the “problem” of spirit.
So reluctant to surrender to the mystery.
So eager to package the transcendental into a word, afterthought, a product.
Never allowing it to BE.
Always needing to know, to be more than.
Not allowing a higher power.
Getting constant reminders that I really don't know anything,
and can never know anything.
But to BELIEVE in a higher power is to hold a thought in your head.
The only thing worth believing is what is happening right now.

The process
Believe in an amorphous moving target
Believe in change
Believe in breath
Believe in heartbeats
and blood
Believe in now
Believe in Now
I did not create this world
and this beating heart.
It was given to me
A gift

Ask nothing in return.

A Visit From Wisdom

In the stillness of night Wisdom came and stood
By my bed. She gazed upon me like a tender mother
And wiped away my tears, and said : 'I have heard
The cry of your spirit and I am come to comfort it.
Open your heart to me and I shall fill it with light.
Ask of me and I shall show you the way of truth.'

And I said : 'Who am I, Wisdom, and how came
I to this frightening place? What manner of things
Are these mighty hopes and these many books and
Strange patterns ? What are these thoughts that pass
As doves in flight? And these words composed by
Desire and sung by delight, what are they? What are
These conclusions, grievous and joyous, that embrace
My spirit and envelop my heart? And those
Eyes which look at me seeing into my depths and
Fleeing from my sorrows ? And those voices mourning
My days and chanting my littleness, what are they ?

'What is this youth that plays with my desires
And mocks at my longings, forgetful of yesterday's
Deeds, rejoicing in paltry things of the moment,
Scornful of the morrow's coming?

'What is this world that leads me whither I know
Not, standing with me in despising? And this earth
That opens wide its mouth to swallow bodies and
Lets evil things to dwell on its breast? What is this
Creature that is satisfied with the love of fortune,
Whilst beyond its union is the pit? Who seeks Life's
Kiss whilst Death does smite him, and brings the
Pleasure of a minute with a year of repentance, and
Gives himself to slumber the while dreams call him?
What is he who flows with the rivers of folly to the
Sea of darkness? O Wisdom, what manner of things
Are these?'

And she answered, saying :
'You would see, human creature, this world
Through the eyes of a god. And you would seek to
Know the secrets of the hereafter with the thinking
Of men. Yet in truth is this the height of folly.
'Go you to the wild places and you shall find
There the bee above the flowers and behold the eagle
Swooping down on his prey. Go you into your neighbor's
House and see then the child blinking at the
Firelight and his mother busied at her household
Tasks. Be you like the bee and spend not the days of
Spring looking on the eagle's doing. Be as the child
And rejoice in the firelight and heed not your Mother's affairs.
All that you see with your eyes was And is for your sake.

'The many books and the strange patterns and
Beautiful thoughts are the shades of those spirits
That came ere you were come. The words that you
Do weave are a bond between you and your brothers.
The conclusions, grievous and joyous, are the
Seeds that the past did scatter in the field of the
Spirit to be reaped by the future. That youth who
Plays with your desires is he who will open the door
Of your heart to let enter the light. This earth with
The ever open mouth is the savior of your spirit from
The body's slavery. This world which walks with
You is your heart; and your heart is all that you
Think that world. This creature whom you see as
Ignorant and small is the same who has come from
God's side to learn pity through sadness, and knowledge
By way of darkness.'

Then Wisdom put her hand on my burning brow
And said:
'Go then forward and do not tarry, for before walks Perfection. Go, and have not fear of thorns
On the path, for they deem naught lawful save Corrupted blood.'

Khalil Gibran
