I have a hunch that James creates soundtracks for television shows.

I have heard sound loops on these shows that are nearly identical in attitude and tone to those on WM music. It has happened too often to be of ignorance.

I remember James choosing to not disclose how he made an income; producing music for the Science Channel might be one.

No kidding.:)

Now that you said it, DeepInWide, I have heard it, too. Can't recall which shows, it was on two occasions. Will pay attention and report in when I know. It is good.;)

the WMs bring "culture" not just to certain individuals...it is for the entire species... have you never noticed, that something that you were just thinking about was "all of a sudden" invented... because someone else acted upon the same though that you had.

It is no co incidence that music is more and more "wingmakerish"... that it contains "familiar" vibrations, rifts and melodies...the entire planet is sharing the gifts of the WMs...like sunshine, it falls upon us all...some hide from the light, some ignore it...but some recieve it gratefully and "channel" it through their creativity...

I am sure you will be hearing more and more of it...it is raining down on everyone...changing the frequency of the entire planet

"James" may very well be Doc Childre of HeartMath for those willing to do the "research". less of a mystical mystery put up on a pedestal than what we all could be engaging in too.

Well said Shay. But isn't Doc Lew Childre now 60ish? So perhaps James is actually his son. Love ya!

Perhaps the concept of "James" is ageless, for however long it takes...

3rd rock from the sun has some sounds in it that resonate with some tones heard on some of the WM cd's. The sound isn't in the tv show itself but in the sound effects advertised at the beginning each show. Will look through the collection.

Well that's great since the music is designer music and it's message on another level will reach many more people who wouldn't listen to it otherwise.

An article about the effects of music and especially Designer Music which both James and Doc Childre create. :D

Quote:
A Newsletter from the Institute of HeartMath®
Spring 2004 3

Music In Our Lives
Understanding the effects music can have.

Founder Doc Childre set
out to create a musical experience that
would lead to mental and emotional
balance in the listener. In the 90s he
produced two collections of instrumental
pieces, Heart Zones and Speed of
Balance. Research showed that positive
emotions created by listening to Heart
Zones resulted in beneficial effects on
the immune system. Childres other
creation, Speed of Balance, was shown
to increase four key aspects of wellbeing
caring, relaxation, mental clarity
and vitality.

A total of 144 adults and teens participated
in the Speed of Balance research.
As part of the study they also listened to
classical, new age, and grunge rock music.
Grunge rock increased undesirable
qualities hostility, fatigue, sadness and
tension in both adult and teen listeners,
and led to reductions in caring,
relaxation, mental clarity, and vitality.

Effects created by new age and classical
music were mixed. Overall results of the
study showed that given the connection
between attitudes, emotions, and the
body, music successfully designed to
balance the mind and emotions can be
an easy way to reduce stress and promote
overall wellness.

What about the effects of music on
learning? This is an area of interest to
researchers, educators, and students
alike. High school student David Merrell
examined the effects of music on mice
running through a maze. Would they
learn to navigate faster with a specific
kind of music? Before the mice began
their listening regimen, David ran each
of them through the maze to establish a
base time of about 10 minutes. Then he
started piping in the music. For ten
hours a day, one group heard classical
and a second group heard hard rock.
A third group heard no music at all.
David put each mouse through the
maze three times a week for three
weeks. At the end of that time, the mice
that had heard no music had managed to
cut their time in half, averaging five minutes
to complete the maze, simply as a
result of regular practice. The mice that
had listened to Mozart averaged an impressive
one and a half minutes. For the
mice that had listened to hard rock,
navigating the maze had become more
difficult and their original average time
tripled to a staggering 30 minutes! Also
worthy of note is the fact that David had
tried to conduct a similar experiment the
previous year, but cut it short when the
hard rock mice killed each other off. He
kept each mouse in separate housing
during the research that followed.
For years, teachers have experimented
with music in the classroom with a
variety of results. One science teacher
found that playing classical music in the
background did improve the performance
of Special Education students.
Manual tasks were completed more
effectively and efficiently and
aggressive and disruptive behaviors were
reduced. Another study took a look at
the effects of music on the behavior and
performance in math by ten children,
for whom disruptive behavior was a
problem. There was a significant
improvement in both behavior and
math performance for all the children
particularly for those whose problems
were related to over-activity or a need
for constant stimulation.

Researchers have only scratched the
surface in exploring how music can enhance
or inhibit our health, well-being,
and capacity to learn. Music has been
found to ease anxiety in both children
and adults, and to calm the elderly. If
you want to experiment on yourself,
these words from Doc Childre can provide
you with a start Listen to music
from your heart and you will develop a
true feeling for what type you need and
when. Whether your laboratory is your
kitchen, shower, or car make it an adventure!
Doc Childres music can be ordered on the IHM
